Middle School

About the Middle School Program
Thornton Academy Middle School is exceptionally student and family-centered, creating a culture that values and encourages curiosity, respect, responsibility, honesty, courage, and compassion.

Faculty, students and parents collaborate to sustain a school environment that is:

• Committed to partnership
• Fun, engaging and creative
• Safe and structured
• Supportive of the personal and academic growth of each student
• Academically challenging and developmentally responsive
• Respectful of individuals
• Socially responsible and community oriented

TAMS students in grades 6-8 are served by 24 qualified teachers and staff, including an on-site guidance counselor. Our 13,000 square foot building provides a place where youngsters thrive in a close-knit community. Collaboration among faculty allows students to learn about different disciplines simultaneously. Thornton’s 80-acre campus also has much to offer: an extensive library and media center, nearby athletic fields, a 500-seat auditorium and plenty of open space to learn, explore and grow.
