Community Bonfire, Hall of Fame ceremony highlight Thornton Academy Homecoming weekend
Thornton Academy’s annual homecoming celebration is next Friday and Saturday, October 13 - 14.
The weekend kicks off with a Community Bonfire, from 6 - 8 pm, behind Linnell Gym. Admission is free and children are welcomed to attend. Kids of all ages can make and enjoy free S’mores, and student organizations will offer snacks, soda, and water for sale.
Saturday morning, TA’s Athletic Hall of Fame welcomes six new members: Joe Gerardi, ‘73, Bob Kimball, ‘63, James Morse, ‘09, Hilary Mahaney ‘58, Nick Scontras ‘92, and the 1963 Boys Baseball Team.
During the Hall of Fame ceremony, two Distinguished Alumni Awards will also be presented: John Duross ’80 - Public Service Award, and Susan Willey Marston ’62 - UnSung Hero Award.
The awards and induction ceremony begins at 10 am in the Garland Auditorium on the Thornton Campus. Admission is free.
Saturday afternoon, Thornton hosts Leavitt in football. Kick off is 1:30 pm.
