Important back-to-school information
The following email was sent to parents of TA students grades 9 - 12 on August 3. If you did not receive it, please email helpdesk@thorntonacademy.org
Good afternoon TA parents,
School begins in less than a month, and our teachers and staff are busy preparing for the upcoming year.
Whether your student is an incoming Freshman or beginning their Senior year, you probably have questions. Look for an email the week of August 15 with information your student needs to start the year, from bell schedules to iPads. That email will be the first of our bi-weekly e-newsletters that parents receive throughout the school year.
Our Technology Department will also contact parents in the coming weeks with details about student-specific access to our network and iPad distribution.
In the meantime, here are a few important dates:
First Day of school
- Freshmen - Wednesday, August 31 (Orientation)
- Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors - Thursday, September 1
- TA Middle School Students - Wednesday, August 31
Labor Day Weekend
- No school September 2 and 5
Picture Day
- Freshman - Wednesday, August 31
- Sophomores, Juniors, and, Seniors - Wednesday, September 7
- TA Middle School - Thursday, September 8

Homecoming
- October 1

Many athletic teams begin practice on August 15. Check our updated Opening Practice Schedule for information about your team.
