TA Auction to celebrate ‘Thornton throughout the years’
Thornton Academy’s popular annual auction returns in May with a special salute to the school’s 214-year history.
Thornton Academy’s primary fundraising event, the hybrid auction offers supporters both online and in-person opportunities to bid on a wide range of items, including Boston Celtics and New England Patriots tickets, white water rafting, summer camps for kids, gift certificates to the Animal Hospital of Saco, and a three-year membership to the Saco-Biddeford Chamber of Commerce.
The auction supports critical programming, expands academic opportunities, provides free breakfast and lunch for students in need, and enhances campus life, so whether bidding online or in person, participants are making a difference in the lives of students.
The online bidding is May 5 - 9, followed by the in-person event on Saturday, May 17, on the TA campus, starting at 5:30 pm. The theme of the evening, “Thornton Academy throughout the years,” celebrates Thornton milestones and the alumni who have passed through the school.
“Thornton Academy has been a proud member of the Saco community since 1811, and this year’s auction celebrates our history and tradition,” says Jennifer Day, Thornton’s director of development, noting that “The auction is possible only through the support of many, many local businesses and individuals and we are grateful for their partnerships.”

Full set of braces or Invisalign from Southern Maine Orthodontics.
