Welcome Back to School letters
Please watch your email inbox for a Welcome Back to School letter next week. Parents will find helpful links, school updates, and important calendar notes to help you prepare your student to return to school.

iPad pick up on August 22

iPad pickup for all students is on August 22.  More information will be sent to parents from the technology office.

Students are strongly encouraged to pick up their iPad on August 22 so that they will have time to set up the device, solve any issues, and become acclimated to the device and software.

It is important that all Freshman bring their iPad to school with them on Wednesday, September 4, for New Student Orientation.

Upper School schedules available with iPad pick-up

All students will be able to view their class schedules when they receive their iPad. Look for login information with your iPad instructions. In the Navigation Bar, choose “My Schedule” and select Matrix View.

TA Middle School students will receive their schedules on the first day of school.

Returning students - registration update

The technology office recently sent a communication to parents of returning students about the PowerSchool registration update. It is very important that parents update this information before the start of the school year.

Questions? helpdesk@thorntonacademy.org.

Bus information

Families from Saco and Dayton should look for bus transportation information from the local municipalities' website. Arundel students requiring transportation to/from Thornton will receive an email communication directly from TA.

Lunch and free/reduced meal program

Thornton Academy is a private school and does not receive subsidies from the federal free lunch program. Lunch is available for sale to all students. Students must use the cafeteria debit card program, called My School Bucks, for purchases.

If purchasing meals creates a hardship for your family, Thornton provides support through a generous free and reduced meal program. Learn more here.

Welcome letter from TA school nurses

Parents of incoming 9th-grade students and students new to TA will receive a Welcome email from the School Nursing office. In this communication, parents will find information about state-required immunizations, as well as guidance about contacting the school Nursing Office regarding your student’s healthcare needs.

Questions? health@thorntonacademy.org
