Thornton Academy valedictorian set a high bar
Joe Park is the valedictorian for Thornton Academy’s Class of 2025.
Joe earned a grade point average (GPA) of 4.18 out of 4.00, while taking a long list of challenging courses that included eight advanced placement (AP) classes and 11 honors classes during his time at TA.
A member of the National Honor Society, Joe received the Rochester Institute of Technology STEM and Math Award, and was recognized for Excellence and Achievement in six classes. He also served as Club Leader for the TEDx and Stem clubs, and co-captained the Math Team.
“Joe Park is as brilliant and hardworking a student as I have ever met,” says science teacher Matthew Amoroso. “He is patient and generous when sharing his impressive understanding with his peers and is as mature and self-disciplined as any student I've met.”
Joe plans to major in chemistry at the University of Rochester.
