Porter C. GreenĀ 1946-1955

Like Sanderson, Porter Greene interrupted his career to serve his country. Greene entered the army as a 1st lieutenant, attached to the signal corps and was a Lieutenant Colonel infantry when relieved from active duty in 1946.

Like his predecessors, Greene seems to have won students' affection quickly, perhaps because his service in war made him accessible to students who had watched many of their own march off and never return.

An ardent sportsman who was not above posing with his kill for the students' camera, Greene continued for the long time of friendly headmasters.
