Thornton Academy has incredibly well-rounded programs. The diverse course load has helped me to thrive as a student athlete. Not only does TA have a great selection of AP courses, but the art department has given me an outlet to thrive. I appreciate the understanding and intelligent teachers that I have had each year. I am more than confident that Thornton Academy has prepared me to succeed in college and beyond.
I originally chose TAMS for the choral and arts programs, and I've grown as a performer from all of the musicals and concerts that I have participated in throughout my three years. Because of the great academics offered to students at Thornton, I was fortunate enough to be chosen to take three upper school classes in my eighth-grade year, including Arabic. The choice to come to Thornton is one that I will never regret.
TA is home to remarkably dedicated and brilliant math and science faculty. With their guidance, I pursued advanced independent studies in multivariable calculus and linear algebra as a junior, and went on to conduct and publish original research in physics during my senior year. These opportunities at TA gave me invaluable preparation for the work I now do as an engineering major in college.
The breadth of Science programming at Thornton Academy ensures that students from every background and interest can find a place to fuel their passions and explore new possibilities. From engineering to genetics and physiology to forests, the Science department has core, honors, AP, and elective classes that prepare young scientists for a rapidly changing world.
