Investing in who they are—and who they will become.

Thornton Academy offers financial aid to enroll competitive boarding students who are appropriate for our mission and programming.

While our financial aid committee strives to lessen the financial burden whenever possible, we cannot always meet a family’s full demonstrated need. Thornton Academy is need-aware and we require that the Clarity Financial Aid Application is completed before an admission decision is made.

Thornton Academy is pleased to offer two scholarships for boarding students. The Trojan Scholarship is for international and domestic boarding students with award amounts ranging from $2,000-$15,000. The New England Scholarship is for current residents of Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut, with awards ranging from $2,000-$15,000.

Scholarships may be combined with financial aid.

We know that financial planning is a key part of the enrollment process.

Financial need takes many forms. The Admissions office partners with Clarity to help make a Thornton Academy education possible for more families based on demonstrated financial need. The Clarity platform provides a simple, secure, and streamlined way for families to share financial information, including income, expenses, assets, debts, and areas to note your realistic financial landscape. Completion of the Clarity Financial Aid Application provides an objective picture of how much a family can contribute toward their child’s education. While our financial aid committee strives to lessen the financial burden whenever possible, we cannot always meet a family’s full demonstrated need.
