General Prigmore is the first female brigadier general and the first female commander in the Oregon Air National Guard. She is responsible for the mission readiness and operational effectiveness of more than 2400 military and civilian personnel. She also oversees state missions related to emergency response operations and support to civil authorities throughout Oregon.

Mahesh Pailoor ’96 was nominated and voted to receive the 2016 Distinguished Alumni Award. Following his time at Thornton, Mahesh studied at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts and trained as a Directing Fellow at the American Film Institute in LA. His thesis film, STILL LIVE, received the prestigious Franklin J. Schaffer Award.
Dr. Waterhouse has had a successful career as a dentist in Saco and South Portland since 1978. He has also served in various community positions including: 14 years as a baseball coach in Little League, Senior League, and Saco Middle School, Thornton Academy Trustee and Trustee of Advent Christian Church of Goodwins Mills.
Backman has used his legal and business talents to support technological innovation with the goal of helping mankind. During his career, Mr. Backman has funded or initiated a wide variety of significant high-tech projects such as industrial and surgical laser technology, a system for continuous roll system laser printing, and development of molecular resonance effect technology.
Dallaire, who received his award May 27 during the baccalaureate ceremony for this year's graduating class, is founder and president of Lighthouse Clinical Development, which specializes in helping the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries plan strategies for clinical development. He lives in San Diego, CA, and Hills Beach with his wife Debbie, and serves on the board of trustees at the University of New England, where he is now working to establish a School of Pharmacy.
