2019 - Frank Sears ‘75

Playing multiple sports as a high school student-athlete is a difficult feat to undertake. Being an impact player in three separate seasons in multiple years is even more difficult. Frank Sears was one such athlete that made an indelible mark at TA as an outstanding multi-sport athlete.

In the fall, Frank was an integral part of the gridiron squad, helping to lead the team as the quarterback to an appearance in the Western Maine final during his junior year. He followed up the next year, his senior season, with a Western Maine Championship. For his extraordinary efforts in the 1974 season, Frank earned All-State and All-America honors.

In the winter, Frank was one of the main cogs in the TA basketball program as a 6” left handed set shooter.

Finally, Frank’s greatest accomplishments may have come on the baseball diamond. In the spring season of 1975, Frank flourished, earning a spot on the first-team All-Telegram League Team as a utility player for his performance efforts on the mound, as well as at first base and left field. To top it all off, Frank won the coveted Telegram League batting title with a season average of .375.
