At TAMS, we are so much more.
Thornton Academy Middle School (TAMS) is a place where students create, dream, and inspire! Our teachers work to create an atmosphere where all different types of learning can take place. As a small, close-knit school, we are able to take a personalized approach toward recognizing the individual needs and accomplishments of each child.
TAMS is a leader in bringing innovative programs to our classrooms. We encourage students to take advantage of our academic extension courses, participate in our off-campus expeditions, and join clubs or sports. With the support and care of our dedicated staff, students are encouraged to try new things. Middle School is a time for students to learn, explore and grow!
Creating a community of 6th through 8th grade independent learners who are respectful, responsible, compassionate, and invested.
I would challenge any family that is looking at schools to find a school community that is going to offer the close-knit environment that we do. The care we offer our students, the support, the mentorship; I just think it's second to none.
Tiffany Robert, Middle School Principal
As a parent of a 6th grader, I am constantly worrying about my daughter and her wellbeing. TAMS has been a blessing for our family. The attention that her teachers give to Kelsey is above and beyond what I ever expected, they are constantly pushing her to dig deeper with her writing, and ask questions to improve her critical thinking skills. I can't imagine a better atmosphere for my daughter, we feel truly lucky to have found Thornton.
Since I started as a student at TAMS, I have felt that I belong to a family of friends and teachers. Everyone has each other's back and is looking forward to every challenge as a community. Every day here is making me feel more confident with myself and my future.

As a mom of two TAMS students, I have been so incredibly happy with the support and care that my kids get every day. Students are taught to be their very best through extracurricular activities, community service involvement, sportsmanship, and friendships.

TAMS let me go at my own pace academically and gave me the tools I needed to succeed.
