Individualized Design for Lifelong Success

School counselors work closely with students and families to develop academic plans that reflect each student’s goals and strengths.
Thornton Academy provides tailored academic levels and individual scheduling with school counselors to meet each student's unique learning needs and post-secondary goals. To support this personalized path, students must complete five to six credits annually through flexible course options worth 0.5, 1, or 2 credits.
School counseling has been very helpful for me especially during my college application process. As a student whose parents didn't attend college, I found myself feeling very confused when starting my college application. I spent many hours and days in the counseling office, speaking with my advisor and going over any questions I had. He was a major help in me confidently applying and getting into college. I'm very grateful! - Chantal Chen '26
