Tradition & School Spirit

At Thornton Academy, school spirit is a way of life. From the rumbling of the bleachers at pep rallies, to the sound of the band playing our alma mater at football games, to ringing the victory bell with your teammates after a big win—our Trojan traditions forge bonds that last a lifetime.

In the 200+ years since our founding, many traditions have evolved that bring our students, faculty, families, and friends together to celebrate our shared and individual victories, and create unforgettable memories. Our alumni often line the sidelines of Hill Stadium, proving that you’re never too old for the maroon and gold.

Monthly Pillar Assemblies celebrate the achievements of our students in and out of the classroom. We also recognize our pillar of the month: respect, responsibility, compassion, or investment.
